Kevin Jones Organ Recital – Sep 27 – livestreamed

On Sunday, September 27, at 4 p.m., First Church Minister of Music Kevin Jones plays his annual organ recital. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, this event will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook. Jones’s program this year celebrates the birth and death anniversaries of J.S. Bach, César Franck, and Louis Vierne, employing both Beckerath and Kimball organs in the Nave of First Church.

Jones has held the post of Minister of Music at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, since January 2013. He has held similar positions in Hartford, Connecticut, Westchester County, New York, and New York City. From 1996 to 2004, Mr. Jones held the post of Musical Director and Conductor of the New York City based Gilbert & Sullivan ensemble, the Blue Hill Troupe, Ltd. With that ensemble he made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut with Skitch Henderson’s New York Pops Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked as assistant to conductor Anton Coppola on the operatic stage. He has worked as vocal instructor and vocal coach at the Hartt School of Music.
